Cleaning

One day a couple weeks ago something in my head clicked.

I have too much crap.

So now i’ve been following the footsteps of a friend of mine and cleaning out all the computer stuff I have including a home theater computer that didn’t get used nearly enough to justify it’s existance. So piece by piece I listed the machine and was constantly surprised about how much parts were going for.

Why didn’t I do this earlier?!

As the parts got sold, I decided it was time to upgrade my digital camera to something in the entry-digital SLR range. After checking out a couple models and deciding I hated the Canon digital Rebel XT for it’s really cheap feel - I picked the Pentax *IST DL which can be coupled with pentax lenses from their film cameras back as far as 1975 (when lenses were made with quality).

I’m closing in on the end of my last auctions as well as nearing the purchase cost of the camera from just ebay money. I think it’s very cool when you can buy a new toy for the same price as you sold your old used toys.

For the last few days I’ve watched the news constantly. Transfixed on the screen as those amazing and horrifying images of destruction came across. I’ve wanted to post something here offering the best of luck to those that survived and my condolances for those who have lost someone. Even now, I’m not sure what to say since it’s all been said much more eloquantly than I will ever state it.

Something snapped in me today. Usually when you watch the news, they will mention some far away nation and the refugees fleeing. This is the first time i’ve ever heard of Americans referred to as refugees in my lifetime. It just seemed to hit me today that they are refugees struggling to survive.

As we near the 4 year anniversary of the World Trade Center attack our nation has to once again band together and help our fellow countrymen.
