Red sky at night, sailor’s delight

Yesterday afternoon we got a decent downpour of rain that seemed to just pop up out of nowhere. Not only did the clouds bring the rain, but fall temperatures hitched a ride as well. Once the rain stopped, I went outside and caught some really vibrant color in the clouds.

I went back inside to grab my camera and caught this photo. The colors were already fading, but I still thought it was worth posting. If only the mess of power lines weren’t in the way.

9/27 run

Another run…this time I didn’t have the desire to throw my nano and itunes7 wearing powerbook out the window as it ate my last run. No problems today in fact which had me more relieved than happy. I made my goal of 4 miles and could have probably made it closer to the 5 mile mark but had to get back home to shower, change for work.

FRACK!

I was doing so well with my itunes 7 update. I’ve got a windows computer as well as my powerbook. Itunes on the windows box is considerably more annoying but I haven’t had some of the issues that others have had.

That is until today. I went for my morning run and pushed past the 4 mile mark hitting 4.03miles. When I got back home, I hopped in the shower and plugged in my ipod to upload my run information. I waited a moment as it automatically uploaded the data to the nikeplus site. That’s when I logged in to find that my run wasn’t there! I unplug my ipod from itunes and check the run data and it shows nothing! No music, no runs. It’s completely empty!

I’m so pissed because now it’s like there is no record of my run…no evidence of my progress. Fuck you Apple.

Juror 707

Hey, I get a day (or more) off work in mid-October!  Unfortunately I won’t be able to do anything fun with my freedom and instead will be experiencing the legal system as one of 12 Angry Men.  I opened my mailbox yesterday afternoon to find the usual junk mail, credit card offers, bills and one envelope that said “Notice for Jury Duty” on the outside.

Damn! I thought.

I’m sure it would be possible to get out of it, but in a way am hoping that I get to be the juror for the bigest trial of the century (or something at least cool).  I need to dig out my DVD copy of Runaway Jury (a good flick for anyone to see).

BSG v2.5

Battlestar Galactica season 2.5 was released today on DVD. Go buy it. Can’t get any more quality television than this.

Lightning

Last night we got a lot of rain and out of the blue it reminded me that I never posted this photo I took from the front porch of my parents house during a lightning storm. I got a lot of photos in this series.

1 step back

I was hoping for continued progress like I made on Thursday but it wasn’t going to happen. In a 3 steps forward, one step back kind of way I managed to almost completely duplicate an earlier run not quite making 3 miles. Yeah, I suck.

Praying Mantus

I decided to do some work in my front yard. I wanted to make it look a little less ‘blah’. I opened the front door and as I reached for the screen door noticed this guy (or girl) right at eye level. He (or she) was just hanging out on the door waiting for his (or her) next meal. There are always bugs to eat around my house - especially when I turn on the front porch light. He (or she) was there all day long and into the evening when I thought i’d feed him (or her). He (or she) was gone the next morning…just using me for my bug attracting abilities I guess.

And the challenger shall go down

Wanted to start running at least once during the week. I figured running on Wednesday morning would be good and break up the week evenly between runs. Unfortunately mother nature didn’t think that was a good idea as it rained ALL DAY yesterday. So when I got up this morning (Thursday) the weather was great. Got out to the local park just after 9am and managed 3 and a 1/2 miles! Almost 3/4 of a mile improvement over my last run!

Now that apple announced the new nano’s (and coincidentally dropped the price of refurbished nano’s to $99) I should be getting a partner to challenge through the nike site. Hope he gets it soon, otherwise he wont be able to catch up…

Wrong side

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, or something like that because i’m very short tempered and impatient today. So if you have to deal with me, sorry. If you don’t have to deal with me, it might be best to stay the fuck away.

And if you’re a complete moron that calls me at work be prepared to acknowledge the fact that you’re a complete moron.
