Da Boob Tube

Friday night’s are for Battlestar Galactica and what an amazing Friday night it was!  (If you dont watch the show, you might not bother reading any further as I continue to geek out).  At the end of the Exodus Part 1, I knew this episode was going to be good but I never predicted it would be THAT good.  Seeing Tigh ‘take care’ of his wife for the good of the many was quite emotional.  Never thought Tigh’s character would tug on the heart strings.  He’s got such a salt dog look to him now.

Those special effects were incredible!  Especially for a TV series.  Watching that giant mass of Galactica falling through the atmosphere was awe inspiring.  I only wish Comcast offered sci-fi in HD.  I’ve had nothing but faith in the things that this series has done and I don’t know the last time i’ve fealt this way with a series.

Holding Pen

I had the excitement of being a juror this week.  I was not called in on Monday but spent Tuesday and Wednesday sitting in the holding pen waiting to be called into the courtroom with my jury pool.  Never happened.  On tuesday we were sent to lunch at 11:30 and told to come back at 2pm.  30 minutes after we returned, we were sent home.  Wednesday I sat there from 8 until just before noon when they sent our group home.  Didn’t have to go in yesterday or today.  Not bad, was on notice for Jury duty for a week and never once entered a court room.

Random Question:  Where would we be if Al Gore had become president instead of Bush?

10/15 Run

Another run…must make a 5 mile run before 10/31. I think next weekend…maybe.

I haven’t used Textamerica in quite some time. In fact, i’ve altered my textamerica page to say that my photos are being posted here. Since I haven’t been using it, I decided to finally cancel my account. I logged in, and went through the process of cancelling. The confirmation page made me laugh though because apparently the people the head ‘TA’ think pretty highly of themselves (see image).

Mid-week suckage

Another mid-week run. Alas, I wasn’t able to make it back to the level I set in my previous run. Ah well…maybe this weekend.

I read earlier that Mark Foley is saying he has a drinking problem and will be going to rehab. How the hell does getting trashed on a bottle of vodka make kids seem appealing? I know there is the term ‘beer goggles’ that can cause you to cringe at the person you wake up with the morning after but there’s no way that has anything to do with his real problem! To make things worse, other members of The House knew about this guy and did nothing for as long as 5 years?!

Another part that concerns me is that Foley was the co-chairman of the House caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. Sick Fuck.

Buying a new car?

Seems like a good move on bank of America’s part to not allow loans on those ‘cars’.
