Good news & bad news

My step-dad had a doctor’s appointment this afternoon to get the results of the pathology report on the mass(es) that was removed from his bladder.
They are going to have to have a 2nd operation to get the rest of the 2nd mass as it was classified as a low grade cancer of the bladder. According to what he just told me, it means that after the surgery, he will have to take medication and that it will, hopefully, take care of the cancer.

It’s not the best news one could get, but it’s by far not the worst news we could have gotten. I’m semi-relieved.

I actually spoke to “god” last night about this. I’m not religious (nor am I one to believe in an allmighty’s existence) but the way I saw it is that it couldn’t hurt…and if “god” does exist, then i’m pretty sure he/she/it can understand my hesitation for belief.

Happy New Year everyone.  Hopefully the end of 2006 here isn’t an omen of how things will be going in ‘07 for me what with the recent family health issues.  My step-dad went in for pre-op testing and paperwork today and will be put under tomorrow around noon.  They will be keeping him overnight to watch him and letting him go home on Thursday most likely.
