Holy fucking shit batman! My legs are definitely feeling the raping they took last night as I stumbled through a run of 6 miles. My nike+ challenge ends just after midnight on Saturday leaving me with just 2 days to surpass my enemy.
I returned from my vacation on Tuesday evening and went right into “oh shit, i have to run” mode. Wednesday eve I managed about 3 miles and the plan was to run 3 miles from Wed - Sat. However, last night I had to play catch up (I was more than 2 miles behind). Now i am only 1/3 mile behind which is much more managable.
Not only is my leg pain a hindrance to anything besides sitting but the recent pollen around here has exploded with yesterday’s pollen count reaching a high of 5937 (anything over 120 is ‘extremely high’). At that point it doesn’t matter if you are allergic to pollen (i’m not luckily) because the pollen will still have a negative impact on you. How many times can you blow your nose and have yellow powder come out?

I’m gone. Or, rather, I will be gone in just about an hour.
I’m heading for the airport to get on one of those oversized Pringles cans bound for Boston. Going to visit my dad and pick up my christmas present from him. A 1987 Mustang that he’s been toying with for awhile now. I’ll be leaving his place on monday morning driving it back to DC where i’ll be hiding out over-night. Then another 600+ miles and i’ll be back home.
While i’m gone…do something fun.

I spotted this mid/late 70’s Mustang the other day at a parking lot for sale. These were never that interesting to me, but this one looks like a fun ride for about a 1/4 mile at a time.

Notice the license plate….”turboed”. Neat….

yes, my thumb is in the photo. I’m that talented.

I haven’t posted anything about my progress running and using the nike+ ipod setup but i’m still doing it. Running everyweekend that I have free time. I even got my mom into it and she is the owner of an ipod w/ nike kit for when she walks. Today, I made decent progress running 5.01 miles. It’s a significant step as my friend is visiting in-laws in the cold of Wisconsin and will be unable to run leaving me with just under a 6 mile lead with less than 2 weeks to go in our challenge.
Next weekend, he’ll have the advantage however as I will be gracing the friendly skies on my way to New Hampshire so that I might drive back in a new vehicular toy by way of my father.

I spent a good part of the evening tonight with Uncle Sam. He’s left me with a small headache and the small vein in my forehead throbbing. You know the vein I mean, the one that pulses as feelings of anger increase.
Since I am not an ‘employee’, I dont enjoy the benefit of having taxes taken out of my paycheck each week. To offset the yearly raping I take, I setup a savings account that I’d put aside a chunk of change to keep myself out of jail when April 16th rolls around.
Turns out my math was a little off and I didn’t put away as much as I needed to into that savings account. Oops. I was only about 40% off. Seems I made a good bit more this year than I did last and therefore my taxes were equally higher than last year.
Anyone want to buy a microwave, toaster, lamp, lightly used pair of prescription glasses or blood / sperm….I could use the cash about now.

It’s 1am and I should really be asleep. The reason i’m not drifting into unconsciousness is that somewhere out in the dark is a dog barking. He’s not barking nonstop but once or twice and then stops. Then he repeats. It has been going on now since about 11pm.

The other reason i am not asleep is that my mind is racing. It’s hard to explain but I have no clue know WHAT i’m thinking about. It’s almost as if my brain is on auto pilot and having these mini-thoughts that disappear into the darkness with that yapping dog before I consciously realize what’s going on.
Maybe if the neighbor brought their dog in, my thoughts would go with it and I could get to sleep.
