Beached carcass

A sperm whale body washed ashore today in Santa Barbara. Police are looking into possibilities that this was a mob hit as the whale was found wearing concrete shoes.

I heard about the LA Times article by way of ‘kitsune’ where a man was accused of trying to remove the whale’s teeth with a hammer. Apparently the teeth are worth a few hundred dollars on the black market. Who knew!

I just hope they don’t try to detonate the whale on the beach as it didn’t go that well when Oregon officials tried it.

The other day I had to make a pit-stop at the local convenience store. I paid for my bottle of smartcan and received 1 really worn looking dollar bill with a website written in the margin.

I visited the site and found someone developed a site that can track the life of your dollar bills. This particular bill made it from San Francisco to my hands in just under a year. Neat idea.

Our last week of the challenge was a rough one. He managed to run 5 days in a row while I ran 4 days in a row culminating in each of us surpassing our previous bests (during this challenge). I somehow stumbled my way to an 8+ mile final run on Saturday expecting that it would be enough to bring me victory. Alas, he stumbled an additional mile over my run to kick my ass. Damn.

This challenge did what we both hoped it would, and got us off our asses - i mean, how lazy can we be if both ran over 20 miles in a week? I’ll get you next time sykotec, you bastard!
