Good thing for the networks

Published by Pyrofenix under entertainment on February 22, 2008

It is a good thing for the networks that the strike has come to an end.  A new gameshow premiered tonight called Amnesia.  It stars Dennis Miller who I typically find entertaining, except when he’s pretending to be a football commentator.

I went out to grab some (awesome) dinner from Five Guys and was flipping through the stations trying to find something on when I ran across this new game show.  NBC should be ashamed that they put this on during primetime.

How can any viewer possibly be intrigued by Dennis Miller quizzing a random dude about miniscule events in his life? Compared to the prizes on other shows, $50k is nothing.

Bring back the scripted shows soon!

The strike is over…now what?

So the writer’s strike is officially over, what does it mean for those television shows that you love? filmschoolrejects has a great breakdown of what many scripted shows will be doing for the rest of this / next season.

Of particular interest to me:

Bionic Woman - No new episodes expected. Ever. (Oh thank god! I wanted to like this but it was a piece of trash!)

Chuck - No new episodes until fall. (What a shame…this show really found it’s stride. One of the best new shows of this shortened season.)

House - Expected to shoot 4 to 6 new episodes to air in April/May. (Many shows will be following a similar setup. I just picked House because he’s probably one of the most entertaining characters on TV.)

Scrubs - Four pre-strike episodes remain. Four additional episodes will likely be shot; unclear whether they’ll air on NBC or go straight to DVD. (What a shame that this show’s final season may not fully air on TV)

Alas, no information on what’s going to happen with Battlestar Galactica!

What have I done?

I finally did it. I broke down and bought an iphone. I’ve toyed with them in the store, but had a perfectly decent SonyEricsson, so never drank the cool-aid. Then it started, my SE began getting lots of static when I answered a call - but it was fine if I answered using the speakerphone. I hate it when people use the speakerphone in public, I really dont want need to hear your conversation and refused to be ‘that guy’. So it meant a trip to the Apple Store…I had to go see the new macbook air anyway!

So yeah, i’m the owner of an 8gb iphone and damn…the interface is just incredibly easy to use. Phone manufacturers up until now had better feel ashamed for creating such horrible UI’s!
